We had a great time today looking at The Hare & The Tortoise 1968, illustrated by the brilliant Brian Wildsmith.

The layers, textures and colours in the illustrations are just magical. We played around with all the tools and created dreamy meadows complete with wonderfully decorated tortoises.

Summer holiday kids club prep is in FULL swing and I’m bringing back some favourite makes from my book Makes For Mini Folk, including this cardboard camera.

Bespoke shapes are being cut for a plethora of projects and we can’t wait!

Our new dedicated KIDS club website @a.r.t.palette has just launched too and spaces are booking up fast.

At ART Palette we host a variety of classes for children age 5+, from after school illustration clubs to holiday ART clubs in SE London and beyond.

Wondrousness at Art Club this week. Yesterday was FLOWERs and we did all sorts. Straight line drawings, still life, chalky smudges, GIANT flower meadows, decorating BIG cardboard vases, abstract work and tonnes more.

We looked at the work of artists from Elizabeth Blackadder to Sabine Finkenauer and collaged our way through the day. Great fun.
